It’s almost time to take a dip in the icy cold Monongalia River.  The Polar Plunge will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Star City Marina.  The Polar Plunge is where all the contestants run into the icy cold Monongahela River.

This annual event benefits the WV Special Olympics.  Polar Plunge is a great family event and even includes the family pet.

The costume contest starts at 1:15 and is followed by the PLUNGE at 2 pm.  There will be an after Plunge Party at the Morgantown Brewing Company.

Morgantown, WV is located approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from Pittsburgh, PA.  This gives us all the niceties of small town living with the advantages of big city living.  Population is approximately 130,000. It is home to West Virginia University.

We are blessed with Cheat Lake, Monongalia River for boating and water activities.  Coopers Rock State Park http://www.coopersrockstateforest.com  for hiking and outdoor activities, and a wonderful Rails to Trails system for biking and walking.

The people here in Morgantown are truly nice to each other.  People don’t just take from the community they give back!  If you ever have the opportunity to move to Morgantown my advice is “TAKE IT”.

Neighborhood Located in the Cheat Lake Area

Cedarhurst is a small neighborhood located in Morgantown, WV, consisting of approximately 26 homes, mostly built in the late 1970’s.

It is located off Tyrone Rd very close to Cheat Lake Elementary School, and approximately 1 mile from Cheat Lake http://www.city-data.com/city/Cheat-Lake-West-Virginia.html .   This convenient location gives great access to Interstate I68/I79.  You are within minutes of grocery stores, restaurants and Lowes etc.  Cedarhurst is also just minutes from the Botanical Gardens http://www.wvbg.org , which has 82 acres and plenty of walking trails.

Most of the homes are situated on large lots (approximately .4 acres) with plenty of trees and privacy between homes.   While the terrain is sloping, there are also flat areas for outdoor activities.

Morgantown Community

Well this will be my first post/blog on WordPress.  I am excited to get started.  This will open up a whole new world in my real estate career.  I have been attending plenty of webinars on social media and how to start blogging.   I think I am finally getting it!
